The following policies apply to Prenatal classes, New Parent classes, and Workshops. Our Mama Fitness policies can be found here.
Cancellations may be done by calling the center in advance of your class. There will be a $10 cancellation fee per class for any and all tuition-based classes over $10. Any cancellations within 3 days of your class will be refunded at 50%.
Refunds for cancellations for medical reasons will be evaluated on a case by case basis. The $10 cancellation fee will still apply.
There are no refunds after your class has started.
For the New Parent classes, trust and support are built upon cohesion with your classmates, and topics may vary from group to group. For these reasons there are no make-up sessions.
In the case of illness, please call the center in advance of your class. We will do our best to find a make-up class. If no make-up classes fit your schedule, you will be issued a refund. Refunds are only available if you have notified us in advance. No refunds are available for classes missed in New Mama, Second Time Mama, Beyond Newborns, or Rolly Pollies.
For participants in our mom and baby classes: if you or your baby has a fever, vomiting, diarrhea, or other obvious signs of illness, you must protect the others in your class by staying home until your baby has been symptom-free for 24 hours. If you are unsure whether your baby is eligible to attend class (i.e. mild coughs, colds, or viral illnesses that are resolving), we ask you to check with your baby’s health care provider to understand whether the illness is currently contagious and might be transmitted, and whether your baby is cleared to attend class.
Inclement weather: if the class is canceled due to inclement weather, we will post the information on the home page. Please check our home page often when you see the weather is bad. If your class is canceled due to weather, we will do our best to find you a make-up class. If no make-up classes fit your schedule, you will be issued a refund.
Classes may be canceled for low enrollment. Although this is rare, know that we will work with you to find another session, but if nothing else fits your schedule we will issue a full refund.
Clients may switch into another section of their class, provided there is space. This must be done by calling the center. Switches must be done within 3 days of your class so we have every opportunity to fill your vacancy.
Unless otherwise noted, all Prenatal classes accommodate one expectant parent and one non-pregnant support person (partner, mom, sister, etc). Any additional attendees need to register for the class separately and pay full tuition, assuming there is space in the class.
Amma Parenting Center honors all the ways to become a family. We use the term “expectant parent” to include parents of all genders and relationships to their children, whether it be biological, adoptive, or via surrogate.
The New Mama Class, Second Time Mama, Beyond Newborns, and Rolly Pollies accommodate just the mother and her baby. All other New Parent classes accommodate two members of the same family.
With twins, both babies count as one registration in our New Parent classes.
No children or infants are allowed in prenatal classes with the exception of Big Brothers and Sisters unless otherwise stated.
We’re sorry, but due to the classroom size we cannot accommodate foreign language interpreters. Doing so creates noise disruptions. Families who are not native English speakers will find our online childbirth class comprehensive and easily translated by an interpreter. You can also look into our private childbirth classes, to which you may bring your interpreter. For hearing impaired clients, please contact Missy Duffy, our Director of Prenatal Education, so that we can make a plan for your education.
Some health insurances may cover part or all of the cost of your class or allow you to use funds from your health savings account. Be sure to check with your insurance provider. Amma Parenting Center cannot guarantee coverage, nor do we accept insurance except for UCare Connect (see below). We will provide you with a receipt which you may submit.
We accept UCare Connect insurance for select prenatal classes. UCare Connect members must register for classes over the phone instead of online. UCare Connect will not reimburse their members for charges, so it is important not to pay for Amma classes up front!
Amma Parenting Center will issue a refund or exchange within 7 days provided the item was not on sale or discounted, and the item is in resellable condition.
Refunds will be issued in the original form of payment within 7 days of purchase.
Up to 30 days, we will issue center credit or exchange your item as long as it’s in its original packaging and in re-sale condition.
Center credit can be used towards classes or products (and never expires).
No returns or exchanges will be accepted after 30 days.
Returned products must be in their original packaging and in re-sale condition. Pump parts and accessories can only be returned if the original packaging seal is unbroken.
All of our Mama Fitness classes are held in our Edina center. You may complete all signups and cancellations yourself online by following the instructions in our registration software, or you may call us directly at (952) 926-2229 and we’ll be happy to help you.
If the class you want is full, you can add yourself to the wait list. If someone cancels, you’ll automatically be added and a notification will be sent to you. If you purchased a class in the hopes of being added from the wait list, but a spot never opens up, your purchase will become store credit and you can use it on your next fitness class.
If you have purchased a Mama Fitness class and are unable to attend, you can cancel yourself out of the class. In order to fill your spot, we require that you cancel at least 10 hours before class. This “early cancel” will put the class tuition back on your account as store credit, which you may use on another fitness class. There are no refunds on fitness classes, and the credit is not transferrable to a class other than fitness.
If you cancel your spot within less than 10 hours of your class, or miss your class entirely, you will forfeit your payment.
Please arrive a few minutes early (we suggest 10-15 minutes) to get settled and find a spot. If this is your first fitness class at Amma, an early arrival allows you time to ask any questions of your teacher.
For early morning classes, our center will open 15 minutes prior to class, and the doors will be locked once class is in session. The teacher will not be available to unlock the doors for you once class has started, so we urge you to be prompt for morning classes. If you arrive late and the doors are locked, no refund will be available for your class.
Bring a water bottle and a yoga mat (if you don’t have one, we have mats you can borrow). If your class includes your baby, please bring a baby blanket, your diaper bag, and any comfort items you may need.
All of our classes are good for beginners. Don’t worry if you aren’t very flexible or don’t regularly exercise! Our classes will increase your strength and flexibility, and you’ll begin to see results over time. Your teacher will appreciate knowing it’s your first class so she can give you extra guidance.
We encourage students to stay through the entire class, but we understand life happens. If you need to leave early, we ask that you let the teacher know before class, and silently exit before the resting position at the end.
We suggest comfortable, stretchy clothing that is not too loose (or it will get in your way, and make it difficult for the instructor to check your alignment and position). Most classes will be practiced with bare feet. We also ask you refrain from wearing scented lotions and perfumes out of respect for those who have sensitivities to fragrances.
At Amma, life is always on baby time. You can change diapers, soothe, and feed right in the middle of class. We have spare diapers, wipes, bottle warmers and nursing pillows around for your convenience.
Your annual membership fee enables you to enjoy the benefits of the program for 12 months from your date of purchase. We do not issue refunds for unused months.
When you join the Amma Membership Club, your spouse/partner can enjoy the benefits as well. However, when the two of you attend a workshop or class (other than prenatal classes, which include your spouse/partner), they will need to pay individual tuition. Their tuition will receive the membership discount.
Your $20 Amma voucher (which is good for any Amma prenatal, new parent, or fitness class, for a workshop, or as a gift to a friend) should be used within the time frame of your 12-month membership. Carry-over may be allowed in certain cases, so please contact us at Amma to discuss your circumstance.
Transactions with our affiliated partner brands are beholden to their individual return, exchange, and warranty policies. Amma is not liable or responsible for any dispute or claim with an affiliated partner.
There are many class options for parents of older children at Amma. You can use the $20 voucher towards a fitness class or workshop. Or, it can be gifted to a friend.
Tuition to our prenatal classes covers the expectant mother and one support person.
The rest of our classes are priced per person. If you’d like to bring a friend or a spouse/partner, then they will need to purchase a separate admission. As your spouse/partner receives the benefits of your membership, they will receive the member discount on their tuition.

The membership club has an annual fee of $55. Your membership will be active for 12 months from your date of purchase.
No. About a month before your membership anniversary, you will receive an email reminding you to refresh your membership so that you can continue to enjoy all of your benefits, including your annual $20 Amma voucher.

After joining the Amma Membership Club, you will receive a welcome email within two days with everything that you need to redeem your discounts with our partner brands. Our boxes are designed for babies during their first six months and beyond. We select items for each box that support the various developmental stages during a baby’s first six months. Our staff has years of expertise that allows them to pick items that will be beneficial to a new little one or to a six-month-old.
We offer three subscription lengths for just this reason. We recommend the one-month or three-month subscription length for a baby who is a bit older. As each box is full of items that can work for a variety of ages and stages, you will receive useful products whether you subscribe for one, three, or six months!

Each month, our staff spends time curating the amma mama boxes. The boxes are shipped mid-month, around the 15th. If you place your order after the 10th of the month, then you will be a part of the next month’s shipment.
The boxes only take a few days to get from us to you, so you should receive your box around the 20th of each month. Remember, if you order your amma mama box after the 10th of the month, then it will be part of the next month’s service.

Your box will be filled with tried-and-true products that mama after mama recommended. Other items will be ones that have just hit the market and have been vetted by our team of experts. Each box is full of curated products that have earned the amma seal of approval.
Babies grow so fast, don’t they? Simply log in to your account and click “unsubscribe.” To ensure that you are not billed for and shipped the next box, cancel your subscription before the 1st of the month.
Yes! Our boxes are a great gift for a friend, relative, spouse, employee, colleague, niece…. The list goes on and on! Simply click on “give as a gift “ and then input the recipient’s email address. They will receive an email that notifies them they have been given a box subscription. It’s that simple to give a great gift!
Due to the nature and specificity of the curated items in each amma mama box, we are unable to accept returned boxes or individual items.
