Sara this is so timely. Just finished new mamas class and have learned so much. I can't stand it when people tell you it goes so fast. I'm already hyper aware of that fact and it doesn't help to be reminded of it especially when, as you say, not every moment is so precious. Love your work and love amma!

Sara--you have a way of telling it like it is. Amen. Finding the balance of me time and kid time, husband time, and family time is so difficult. Thanks for reminding us that just about everyone goes through these emotions! I threatened to run away to a hotel earlier this week just to get a few hours of down time! :)

Please keep blogging--I read your post about Crazy Town when my son (#2) was about 2-3 weeks old in November. Oh, so true. So very true.

You certainly captured the feelings - from the craziness to the loveliness. It's amazing how quickly our emotions flip back and forth. Fortunately, I can say that lately I've been much more on the "my family is a wonderful" side. I'm so glad my intentional family is gradually progessing. Thanks Sara for sharing your insights in such an enjoyable read!

THANK YOU for this reminder. You posted this just when I really, really needed it. I wish my partner and I had better prepared ourselves for 'having a family' but just remembering to take a step back helps.

What wonderful way to live day by day. Lu is now over one and I feel like we tried so hard when she was a newborn to remember to not keep score, and we have seemed to forget that these days. Thank you for reminding us how lucky we are to be a family. Hugs & Kisses.

As always Sara, you are brilliant! Well said friend, what a gift to remind all mamas the the work a family takes to build, to cultivate, to develop. Having a family should not divide it should unite, but that does take intentional purposeful work. Work well worth it as I want to be remembered as a great wife and great mother. Not a great laundress.
xx Melissa

I should not have read your amazing post. . .I'm sitting at the service center at Hopkins Honda with tears in my eyes! Remembering how hard those first few weeks are and wishing that all of my new mama friends can take advantage of Amma's fabulous resources! xoxo
